Sant Joan
Good afternoon guys! I can't believe July is almost here, time does really fly by. Thursday it was a bank holiday here in Catalonia, so we decided to spend the four day weekend in our little house in the countryside. I couldn't believe that the last time I was here it was 2 summers ago. I really like coming here, it is so nice being around nature and disconnecting from the city life. I love living in the city, but sometimes I need a break from all the traffic, noise, and crowds. This bank holiday is called Sant Joan and we celebrate the Summer Solstice, as it is the shortest night and longest day of the year. During this day, there are bonfires and fireworks everywhere. You literally don't sleep because of all the noise hahaha. Also, all the bakeries sell two special cakes that are eaten during that night - we call it "coca de Sant Joan". One of them is a brioche with candied fruit and sugar on top, and the other one is a hard puffy pasty with pine nuts and sugar on top (you can fill them with cream, chocolate or angel hair). We usually have them as a dessert after dinner and it is served with some champagne. I hope you all have a lovely Monday, lots of love xx

//¡Buenas tardes chicos!
